From Vaping to Nicotine Pouches: How Flavor Changed My Quit Journey

On my 40th birthday I’d made the best decision of my life, to give up smoking. It killed my mother after all. So seemed the right thing to do to prolong my time on this planet with the ones I love. Trying everything under the sun I struggled until I found vaping. I loved finding sweet flavors with the odd tart or savory flavor thrown in, depending on what I was eating or drinking at the time. It had to go well with what ever I was having. I was picky to. I’m still overly picky when it comes to flavors, just ask my partner. I didn’t like anything with the slightest chemical taste to it, so anything with chill or ice in it, I just couldn’t stomach to vape. Even mint vapes just didn’t do it. It had to be something I enjoyed.

I started looking around for information on how e-liquids were made, and eventually I ordered supplies to try my hand at it. At the beginning it was exciting learning how to mix this stuff to come up with not only good flavors, but ones I could actually say I created. It was estimated at one time that I’d helped around 4000 people get off the smokes with my flavors and assistance. Flavor is everything! We humans usually won’t palate some thing we don’t like the flavor of. And anyone trying to quit smoking, is going to want a flavor they enjoy, and don’t mind replacing the flavor of burning tobacco with. Find that flavor, win that battle!!!

Now, almost 11 years on, and I’m kinda tired of constantly buying juice, and pods or batteries. And with me trying to create more music as a hobby, I’m wanting to preserve my voice a bit more. So, again, I looked for alternatives. Several friends in Canada, and the USA told me about nicotine pouches, or snuss some called it. I got curious. Of course the first thing I thought, was about the stringy tobacco I used to dip in high school. But mate, was I wrong.

I found a website and made an order. First ever order I got Velo Orange Spark from Nordic Pouch. It arrived in about 4 days, as I’d ordered right before the weekend. I was surprised it arrived so quickly for a start, but the flavor itself! It was more than I could’ve ever expected. This was enough for me to want to try more.

And, to top it off, I noticed I rarely reached for my vape. I ordered a bunch of tins of Cuba, and Zeus brands from Nordic Pouch to try and fell instantly in love with Forest Berries from Cuba. It’s an amazing berry flavor that just explodes those sweet and tart notes all through your mouth. And smooth… That’s an understatement with the Cuba brand.

I loved the Blueberry from Cuba as well. The Watermelon, wasn’t really for me, even though I love the real deal, it just had too much of a candied watermelon flavor for my liking. Then came Nordic Pouche’s $6 Syx sale with the intro of theSyx Club. Instantly I signed up, but sadly, I wasn’t able to afford anything from the sale. Bloomin’ payday is on Christmas eve, go figure lol. But after talking to Shem to get the tracking deets for my order I did manage to place, found that not only do they have a ton of flavors and strengths to choose from, they’re getting more!!!! Like seriously guys! I have a hard enough choice already!! Nahhhh I’m kidding, keep it coming! I’m excited to see what I pick next!

Now, I’m an avid gamer for an old man, and when I’m gaming, my vape is always close at hand. Wait, let me correct that, WAS always close at hand. Now I have 3 tins of the new Syx range sitting here that arrived the day after I received my tracking!! Like how fast can these guys actually ship? But, having that convenience of not having to stop gaming to vape, priceless. Not only that, but with the amazing flavors I’ve tried so far, I can’t wait to try more! Vape liquids were flavorful, but these pouches are on a whole other level completely!

The Syx Tropical, actually reminds me of a tropical punch drink I won’t name. Super smooth, no harshness at all. And a sweetness that could rival your favorite sweet treats. I can’t stress enough how much flavor these have.

I’m sitting here now staring at the Syx Blueberry cause I haven’t opened it yet, and have yet to try it. And to top off all of this, I have rarely gone outside at work for a “smoko” break since I’ve started trying these pouches. I’m not gonna lie to you all, and say I’ve stopped vaping completely. But, I can say, I’ve gone from chain vaping at home, to maybe picking it up two or three times the whole day.

I might use a pouch every hour and a half or two hours. Longest I’ve gone so far without a vape or pouch was about four hours. And well, that was thanks to trying a stronger level of nicotine pouch, that I’m betting I’d had a little too soon after a weaker one. Sorta gave myself the spins, haha.

But I did work out, that if I started my day, with a 30mg pouch, I usually wouldn’t touch another or a vape, for roughly three to four hours. This has made a huge impression on me. So much so I even went and looked at how the pouches are made. A bit too complicated and expensive for me to consider getting into, but it showed me just how big the industry really is. And so far, I can’t say I’ve found better deals anywhere else.
